How Meditation + Neuroscience Helped Me Stop Identifying as a Victim
Hello beautiful,
This one is a little raw.
But that’s the promise of this truth-bearing challenge.
More truth.
More depth.
More of the real story behind my healing.
Healing from Lupus and complex trauma was brutal.
I lived in constant shame, confusion, dissociation, and depression.
And for a long time…I didn’t just experience victimhood —
I identified with it. It was who I was. It was automatic.
I didn’t know another way to exist.
But guess what? No more...
Meditation changed that.
Slowly. Quietly. Consistently.
Neuroscience shows us that neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to rewire — is real, measurable, and profound.
📚 Tang, Hölzel & Posner (2015), Nature Reviews Neuroscience — meditation induces structural and functional brain changes.
Every time I meditated,
I wasn’t just relaxing.
I was rewiring.
From shame → power
From confusion → clarity
From depression → joy
From victim → Queen
I no longer feel like a victim.
I feel free. Powerful.
Sovereign.
I know what's possible and that my abilities are limitless.
It's a new truth that is exciting and lights me up
EVERY.
FUCKING.
DAY.
And here’s what I want you to feel in this:
Possibility exists for you too.
Even if you’ve been lost in your symptoms for years.
(This is one of the foundations of my mentorship, by the way — reprogramming, rewiring, and embodying a version of yourself that feels grounded, powerful, and deeply self-led.)
Start with 5 minutes a day.
Consistency is medicine.
You can use this guided meditation to get you started.
Stay tuned —
my next vulnerability post is coming soon.
I promised truth.
I'm keeping that promise.
If this hit deep, visualize yourself surrounded by light as you take 4 deep breaths.
Sending love,
Dr. Z
P.S. If this moved something in you —
or if you felt a whisper inside saying, “I want this too…”
you’re welcome to reach out.
